The Request
The Mississippi Teacher Corps (MTC), a graduate program at The University of Mississippi, recruits participants to teach in critical-shortage schools while they work on a Master of Arts in Teaching degree. MTC contacted Collaborada due to teacher shortages and low application numbers. The program’s website serves as an important recruiting tool both locally and nationally, but website traffic was down. Collaborada was asked to investigate the issue and to boost MTC’s presence in SERPs to drive awareness among potential applicants. Collaborada recommended restructuring the site to better meet audience needs leading to a higher conversion rate.
The Work
During a short SEO consultation, Christine of Collaborada worked with the MTC program director to identify content gaps and address topic relevance. Suggestions were made for content development and needed revisions. On-page SEO elements were improved. Site content was reorganized for a positive impact on user experience and conversion rate.
The Results
SEO and CRO Success. Comparing a 3-month period YOY, the website experienced a 57% gain in impressions and a 19% increase in organic clicks.
More importantly, the number of applicants increased due to better site usability. The MTC program saw 3x growth in applications (i.e. conversions) as compared to the previous year.
